Roof cleaning & moss removal
Moss holds water against your tiles, blocks gutters and lifts in frost. We take it off properly — by hand where it needs to be — and leave the roof sound, clear and ready to protect if you want it protecting.

How we do it.
Roof inspection
We look at the whole roof before quoting — pitch, condition, ridge, valleys, flashing, and how we'd get safe access to it.
Manual moss removal
Thick moss comes off by hand and scraper. It's slower than blasting it and far kinder to the tiles.
Machine clean
Controlled cleaning to lift the algae and lichen the scraper leaves behind, using equipment matched to the tile type.
Repairs as we go
Slipped or cracked tiles replaced, isolated pointing made good. We'd rather sort it while the access is already up.
Gutters and downpipes
All that moss has to go somewhere. Gutters, fascia and soffits cleared as an optional add-on — most people take it.

- Asbestos cement roofs
- Roofs with widespread structural failure — that's a re-roof, not a clean
- Anything we can't reach safely

Will pressure washing damage my tiles?
It can, which is why we don't just point a lance at a roof. Thick moss comes off by hand first, and machine cleaning is matched to the tile type and condition. Old, soft concrete tiles get treated very differently to hard clay.
How long does a roof clean take?
Most domestic roofs are one to two days depending on size, pitch and how much moss there is. Access setup is usually half of the first day.
Will the moss come straight back?
It'll come back eventually — that's just biology and a damp climate. A clear water-repellent treatment afterwards makes the surface much harder for it to take hold on, which is why most people have the two done together.
Also worth looking at
